Kate Allwood Inducted into the City of Cape Town Junior City Council
Congratulations to Kate Allwood (Grade 11), who has been officially inducted as a councillor of the City of Cape Town Junior City Council (JCC) for 2025.
The induction ceremony took place on Saturday, 1 March, at the Cape Town Civic Centre, where Kate took the official oath of service, received her Junior City Council blazer and attended an inspiring keynote address delivered by Alderman Theresa Uys. The event marked the beginning of an exciting year of leadership, learning, and community involvement.
As a member of the JCC, Kate will have the opportunity to participate in council meetings, community outreach projects and youth engagement initiatives designed to promote civic awareness and active citizenship. She will collaborate with 49 other Grade 10 and 11 learners from schools across Cape Town, representing the voices and perspectives of young people in the city.
This prestigious programme offers a unique platform for developing leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while gaining first-hand insight into local governance and decision-making.
