BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL

Somerset College was founded in 1997. It is located on the historic Vredelus farm in the Western Cape Winelands.

We started as an independent, English-speaking, co-educational high school. Our initial size was 70 students and 11 staff members. The school quickly grew. We opened our boarding house in 1998 and welcomed our first Preparatory School pupils in 2001.

GOVERNANCE

Our governance ensures the school operates with integrity and transparency. We are committed to excellence. Our leadership structures maintain the highest educational standards. We also foster a supportive environment for all.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parents and guardians play a vital role in our community. We highly value your involvement. You can participate in school events or join various committees. There are many ways to get involved and make a meaningful impact.
