National Selection for Buhle Mfunelwa
We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Buhle Mfunelwa has been selected to represent South Africa in the U16B Hockey Team following his outstanding performance at the recent Inter-Provincial Tournament (IPT) held in Pietermaritzburg. This prestigious selection is a remarkable achievement that highlights Buhle’s talent, dedication and hard work both on and off the field.
During the tournament, Buhle played a pivotal role in the Boland U16A Team, helping his side secure a bronze medal against some of the country’s toughest provincial competitors. His composure under pressure, strong defensive play and sharp tactical awareness made a significant impact throughout the tournament, earning him the attention and respect of the national selectors.
Being chosen for a national team at this level is a major milestone and a testament to years of consistent effort and commitment to the sport. It also reflects the excellent standard of hockey coaching and player development at Somerset College.
