Vacancies

PART-TIME CLASS MUSIC TEACHER - PRE-PREPARATORY SCHOOL

(with the possibility of extracurricular instrumental teaching in the Preparatory School)

Commencement Date:  1 January 2027

The successful candidate is required to:

  • teach class music from Grades 000-R on a part-time basis according to the Pre-Preparatory timetable;
  • manage and implement an appropriate curriculum pertaining to music and movement for Pre-Preparatory students;
  • liaise with the Preparatory Arts and Drama Departments for events such as Celebratory Assemblies, Nativity plays, Founder’s Day and similar occasions;
  • work with the class teachers to put together scripts/music for these occasions;
  • manage and teach the Grade R Choir as an afternoon extra-mural and manage the performances for the choir;
  • play piano accompaniment in class music and where necessary at events and choir practices;
  • participate in the life of the Pre-Preparatory School for special days, functions and events;
  • contribute to the operational requirements of the Pre-Preparatory School when necessary for various duties and responsibilities;
  • uphold the Christian ethos and values of the School;
  • have a suitable academic and professional qualification;
  • have a warm and nurturing disposition;
  • have good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as part of a team;
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • remain current and aware of the latest trends in technology and ECD education;
  • experience in leading Orff percussion ensembles would be an advantage;
  • have proof of registration with SACE.

In addition to the above, the successful applicant may have the opportunity to be engaged as an independent service provider to offer extracurricular instrumental tuition in the Prep School. SENIOR SCHOOL MATHEMATICS TEACHER

Commencement Date: 1 January 2027

Non-negotiable criterion: Only candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ IEB teaching experience will be shortlisted.

 The successful candidate must:

  • have a minimum of 5 years’ IEB experience in teaching Mathematics up to Grade 12 level;
  • teach in a relevant and up-to-date manner so that confidence in Mathematics is instilled in students;
  • be able to use technology to enhance the teaching and learning process in the classroom and online, as required;
  • be prepared to offer support classes to students as part of the classroom extension;
  • be prepared to be involved in Olympiads and other Mathematics-related student competitions;
  • have excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills;
  • be able to work well within a team of teachers who report to a Head of Department;
  • be engaged in the school activities and contribute to the extramural programme;
  • have the requisite professional and academic qualifications and proof of registration with SACE.

JUNIOR PREP & SENIOR PREP INTERNSHIPS 2027

Commencement Date: 1 January 2027

The Preparatory School seeks to employ energetic and creative individuals, currently studying Education, who are passionate about developing young people. 

The successful candidates must:

  • be enrolled as a Bachelor of Education student, or another appropriate teaching qualification, with an accredited distance learning institution for 2027;
  • be suitable to work in the Junior Prep (Grades 1-3) or the Senior Prep (Grades 4-7);
  • display excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • be actively supportive of the school’s Christian ethos;
  • be actively seeking to develop yourself professionally in a school environment that is committed to providing a quality education;
  • demonstrate a commitment to ongoing growth in both subject mastery and professional practice;
  • be enthusiastic and passionate about working with young people;
  • be able to work and cooperate in a professional team environment with school management and fellow interns;
  • be innovative and comfortable using technology in the classroom;
  • be able and willing to participate fully in the school’s Co-Curricular and Aftercare Programmes;
  • have a valid driver’s licence;
  • have strong values, be self-motivated and disciplined.
