Rimmer Tees Up for Success: Selected for Boland High School Golf Team
The Somerset College community is proud to announce the outstanding selection of student athlete, Luke Rimmer, to the prestigious Boland High School Golf Team. Luke’s dedication and strong performance on the greens have earned him a coveted spot among the region’s elite young golfers.
Luke will now join his new teammates as they prepare to represent the entire Boland region at one of the country’s biggest junior sporting events: the South African Schools Golf Tournament.
The highly competitive national tournament is scheduled to take place in Orkney in October 2025. This event brings together the best school-level golf talent from provinces across South Africa, providing a challenging and high-profile platform for aspiring professional players.
“Luke’s selection is a testament to his persistent hard work and the long hours he puts into refining his game,” commented the College’s Head of Sport. “It’s a magnificent achievement to make a provincial-level team, and we have no doubt he will be a valuable asset to the Boland squad.”
This opportunity not only showcases Luke’s talent but also highlights the quality of the golfing programme at Somerset College. The entire school will be following the team’s progress, cheering them on as they strive for national honours in Orkney.
