Girls' tennis teams complete a successful season

11th March 2024

The Somerset College girls’ first tennis team match (Mia Hosking (Captain), Sheryl Harborth, Isabella Pritchett and Tatum Macnaughton) against Rustenburg High School on Monday 4 March was cancelled due to rain. We would like to thank Isabella Pritchett and our captain and number one player Mia Hosking for their meaningful and much-appreciated contribution to tennis at Somerset College over the years. They have successfully represented the Somerset College first team in league fixtures and tournaments since their arrival in Grade 8 and 9 respectively.

The Somerset College girls’ second tennis team (Tatum Macnaughton, Leila Holtzhausen, Ava Retief (Captain), and Hannah De Jager) had a close encounter in their last league fixture against Bellville first team by each winning three matches but we won on a game count of 27-23. The second team has had a highly successful season in the Northern suburbs first league division by beating every school in the league.

Well done to both teams and to coach James Dunn from Edge Tennis Academy, for their contribution to a successful tennis season.
