Somerset College Gr 11 student, Jason Stegmann, was selected to participate in the SA Champs Slalom Water Skiing Tournament and was part of the SA team in the All Africa International, held in Stellenbosch.
Jason did brilliantly and bettered his previous competition scores by 9
buoys getting into 1/11,25 m/58 km and 0,5/11,25 m/58, which are fantastic scores. He won both SA champs and All Africa in his U 17 age group. He qualified for SA U 17 colours last year and was re-awarded these after participating in this International event. His score was the third-best score of the tournament, only beaten by his brother Nicholas in U 21 (4/11,25 m/58 km) and a Namibian skier (2/11,25 m/58) in Open men.
Jason has been selected to represent South Africa in the European and All Africa Championships in Greece this August. Congratulations, Jason. We are proud of you.
