The Preparatory School seeks to employ an energetic, creative and experienced Head of the Pre-Preparatory School who is passionate about developing young people.  

HEAD OF THE PRE-PREPARATORY SCHOOL

Commencement Date:  01 January 2021

The successful candidate must:

  • have the appropriate academic and professional qualifications for the post
  • have experience in a senior leadership role in a school environment
  • have a minimum of five years teaching experience in a Pre-Preparatory environment
  • have the ability to think strategically
  • have the vision and ability to lead a diverse staff
  • have the ability to attract, mentor and inspire staff to perform at exceptional levels
  • be an excellent role model and effective at leading, motivating and supporting a team
  • provide academic leadership, guidance and sustained staff development in a hybrid setting
  • co-ordinate the academic and timetabling programmes for the Pre-Preparatory School
  • work closely with the Aftercare Manager
  • have experience in financial management and control of budgets
  • have excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills
  • have the requisite IT skills to sustain online learning and internal IT management
  • be driven and have resilience, energy, flexibility, and enthusiasm
  • have knowledge and experience in the Reggio Emilia Philosophy, as this will be an added advantage
  • understand the Christian ethos and values of the school
  • have a warm and nurturing disposition
  • be willing to be engaged in the extra-curricular programme
  • have proof of registration with SACE

The School seeks to employ an energetic, creative and experienced Facilities Manager to manage the full campus and facilities related function, by providing support to all Somerset College stakeholders and to positively contribute to a streamlined and professional operation.

FACILITIES MANAGER

Commencement date: 1 JANUARY 2021

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience (see Duties and Responsibilities below)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
  • Excellent role model and effective in leading, motivating and supporting a team
  • A high level of professionalism, discretions, integrity, confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Ability to think and engage strategically
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Superb planning, coordination and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in computer programmes and applications
  • Ability to work under pressure

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Main outputs:

  • Manage the full Facilities function
  • Management of staff, including Performance management / Talent management, wellbeing, training and development, etc.
  • Oversee and control all aspects of maintaining, upkeeping, cleaning and the development of facilities, including the Facilities helpdesk
  • Provide support to all events and logistical requests
  • Manage all transport related issues including vehicle maintenance
  • Security management, access control and surveillance
  • Drive sustainability
  • Manage water, electricity and waste
  • Involved with the Safety, Health and Environmental management of the college
  • Manage key elements of the Risk Management Plan
  • Reporting on all Facilities related issues
  • Budgets, including compilation, control, estimates, reports, quotes and payments
  • Manage all Facilities related policies, procedures, standards and guidelines

The Pre-Preparatory School seeks to employ an energetic, creative and experienced Aftercare Manager who is passionate about developing young people.  

AFTERCARE MANAGER

Commencement Date: 1 January 2021

The successful candidate must:

  • have experience in working with children between ages 3-6
  • establish and maintain interactive communication with parents and colleagues
  • manage the Aftercare Facility in its totality
  • ensure a well maintained, clean, loving, safe and homely play environment
  • have strong interpersonal skills
  • have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • have energy and affinity for young children
  • have police clearance
  • be willing to fulfill First Aid duties
  • assist with private paid extra murals
  • supervise and manage the Aftercare Assistants
  • prepare annual budgets
